RESPITE SERVICES

The new Wayne County Nursing Home has two private rooms set aside for respite care or short-term stays.

The rooms are designed specifically to allow caregivers of the chronically ill some time for a vacation or other break. The staff temporarily supports the caregiver's role in caring for a patient who lives in the community and needs 24-hour care or supervision. The caregiver is expected then to resume care after the respite, generally fewer than 13 days.

The single rooms are furnished and have storage space for clothing and personal belongings. Members of the nursing home staff will assist with personal care and administering medication as needed.
