Administrative Services
The Administrative team of Wayne County Nursing home consists of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing, the Comptroller and the Integrity Officer.
Business Office
(County Home Trust - CHT)
The Financial Department is responsible for resident billing, accounts receivable, cash receipts, resident banking, payroll and accounts payable. A Notary Public is located in the Business Office. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Education
The Education department is responsible for orientation and ongoing staff development.
Transportation
The transportation department offers assistance with scheduling transportation services. Our nursing home owns two minibuses and one car for resident transportation. These vehicles are used for medical appointments for Medicaid, for resident activities and by county personnel for business purposes as pre-arranged.
For persons who do not have Medicaid, there are 4 fee-for-service transportation companies available to residents for medical appointments or events. Residents may also use the WATS bus service to get to appointments or events.
Maintenance
The maintenance department is responsible for facility services, grounds, utilities and safety.
Medical Records
Medical Records is responsible for all health information management (including transcription), as well as, the coordination of medical information systems for the Home. The department, in addition, is responsible for resident scheduling/appointments and arrangement of transportation.
Receptionist
The reception desk is located at the front entrance. Change, guest meal tickets, mail and general information services are available during the usual hours of: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm.
Activities & Recreation
Our activities committee plans, coordinates and facilitates resident therapeutic recreation. The department is staffed 7 days a week - day and evening shift to accommodate a variety of activities. The department also oversees the volunteer program with the planning and coordination of community volunteers and services to serve our facility.
Cut & Curl Barber and Beauty Shop
Our Barber and Beauty Shop offer a full range of services to residents for a nominal fee. The shop operates on days, Monday through Thursday. The fee can be paid either directly at the time of service or monthly through our Business Office. Gift Certificates are available through the Business Office.
Dental Health
Wayne County contracts with McClure Dental Service for resident dental care. The dental clinic is scheduled on Wednesday of each week. Some of the services they provide are:
- Examinations: initial, routine and emergency
- Diagnostic X-rays when necessary
- Oral prophylaxis and hygiene instructions
- Scaling
- Fabrication and repair of all forms of dentures-new dentures
- Restorations
- Extractions
- Limited fixed prosthesis when indicated
Diagnostic Services
Wayne County contracts for the following diagnostic services:
- Diagnostic Imaging is arranged, as ordered, through Health Trac/MDTS services
- Laboratory Service is arranged, as ordered, through Wayne Via Health Laboratories.
Food & Nutrition
Food and Nutrition is responsible for all resident meals, staff meals, special functions/catering and all clinical nutritional assessments and treatment required under skilled nursing care. The food and nutrition staff also puts on events like Harvest Fest and the We Care Fair.
The department operates from 5am to 6:30pm under the supervision and management staff of Sodexo, which serves 6,000 clients in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Sodexo and the staff are dedicated to safety; they make sure the staff, kitchen and food meet NYS department of Health Guidelines on a regular basis.
Hospice Services
Hospice Services are available to provide comfort and support to residents and family in collaboration with Lifetime Care. The goal of hospice is to optimize the quality of life for our residents at the end of life.
Infection Control/Employee Health
The Infection Control/Employee Health program monitors the prevention and occurrence of infections, illness and work-related injuries in our facility for our 190 residents and entire staff. The department is staffed Monday through Friday 7am-3pm and additional flexible hours to accommodate staff and resident needs.
Medical
Dr. Cheryl Morrow of Elder Medical Services, P.S. serves as our Medical Director with three other physicians rendering resident care and treatment.
Mental Health
The residents are provided with two options for Mental Health Services:
- Maria Gigliotti, LC MSW
- Maria is a certified therapist who has a private counseling practice based in Geneva. She provides counseling and therapy services for residents.
- Wayne Behavioral Health
- Residents may see a psychologist or psychiatrist at Wayne Behavioral Health, which is located in the building behind the nursing home.
Nursing
Nursing is the central service of the Nursing Home. All nursing units are supervised by a staff of RNs. Resident care and treatments are delivered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a team of RNs, LPNs, CNAs and Assistants. A Director Of Nursing with an Assistant Director of Nursing directs the department. A Nursing Supervisor oversees operations on evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Pharmacy
Wayne County Nursing Home works with Kinney drugs for resident prescriptions. A delivery comes twice a day to bring residents medications and take medications that need to be filled.
