Dr. Schabel is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Rochester, where he remains on the faculty as a clinical assistant professor in medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and a certified medical director. His practice is devoted solely to the care of nursing home patients. Dr. Schabel joined our staff in 2011 and is on the staff at Rochester General Hospital. He is a member of the American Geriatrics Society, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Directors Association. In addition, he has served on the executive committee of the Finger Lakes Medical Directors Association since 1996 and the board of directors of the New York Medical Directors Association since 1998.

Dr. Schabel is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a committee member of the American Medical Directors Association. In addition, he has served on various committees of the Finger Lakes Medical Directors Association since 1996 and the board of directors of the New York Medical Directors Association since 1998.


Arun Nagpaul, M.D.

Dr. Nagpaul is board certified in Internal Medicine and is on the staff at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic where he serves as a specialist in Hospital Medicine. Additionally, He serves as a physician and medical director at other nursing homes.

Dr. Nagpaul has been a staff physician at Wayne County Nursing Home since 2003.


Arif H. Choudhury, MD


Dr. Arif Choudhury, a board certified Internist, joined the Wayne Medical Group in 2003. He began his practice at the Wolcott Medical Center and now practices full-time at Sodus Internal Medicine. In addition, he cares for residents at the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus.

He earned his Medical Degree at the Rangpur Medical College, in Bangladesh and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Queens General Hospital in New York, and at Easton Hospital in Pennsylvania. He received the prestigious "Jakob-Kinkov Resident-of-the-Year" award from Easton Hospital.

He is an avid soccer fan and was the skipper of his Medical College soccer team in Bangladesh. He lives in Newark with his wife, Luna, and son, Yafir.
