A butterfly garden was planted at the Wayne County Nursing Home on June 13, 2009 by representatives of the Seneca Park Zoo Society. There was a presentation on Monarch butterflies – their life cycle and journey to South America. The garden was included on the site map of the Butterfly Beltway project. On September 14, 2009 the representatives returned with Monarch butterflies for release. Prior to the release residents were able to have a butterfly placed on their hands.
The butterfly garden project was funded by the Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation
